Attack!
Taken during preparations for a nature photography workshop which I was asked to lead for the Spring Bird Festival at Tommy Thompson Park.
Power and towers
Taken on a photo walk downtown; March 2012.
The building on the left is Toronto’s City Hall (hence “Power” in the image’s title).
On the wing
Toronto Photo Walk in the Beaches – we had some interesting light (and a variety of weather) that day.
Freaky forest
Taken on a Toronto Trails walk through Tommy Thompson Park (Leslie Street spit); January 2012.
TOPW show
Toronto Photo Walks* is holding its first group exhibition at Studio 561 on March 17th to 31st. Details are on the TOPWshow.ca website; there’s even a poster for you to print and display
The opening party will be on Saturday March 17th, 5pm onwards – I’m sure we can arrange for green beer for those who are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
(*TOPW is the photo-walking group that I started in 2009; I’m one of the 21 photographers showing work at this exhibition.)
The yolk’s on me
Shot with Allan’s Christmas present (a Sigma 10-20mm lens) on the Toronto Brick Works photo walk, December 2011.
Sunrise
Shot on the Sunday morning of the Toronto Photo Walks weekend trip to Orillia in December 2011.
Worldwide Photo Walk 2011
I’m organising a photo walk in Toronto as part of the 4th annual Worldwide Photo Walk, which will be my 2nd WWPW as a walk leader.
The walk I’m planning is in the Summerhill & Yorkville area. It coincides with our regular Toronto Photo Walk schedule, so I’m organising it as a normal TOPW event (i.e. 10am to 6pm with pub stops for lunch and at the end) but there’s a specific WWPW start point for anyone who only wants to join us for a couple of hours.
If you’re interested in joining my walk, register and join the walk; if you want to find another WWPW or organise your own, just go to the WWPW website and follow their navigation.
Update: the walk is now full (50 people) and there’s a waiting list; you can add your name to the waiting list if you want, or sign up for one of the other walks in the area. I promise not to be upset if you go to someone else’s walk or lead your own!
p.s. Official WWPW T-shirts are now available.
Late night launch
A night walk with Toronto Photo Walks; unfortunately it rained quite heavily and we didn’t make it over to the Islands but at least there were some interesting clouds.
Hold ‘em high
Taken at the Marillion Weekend, Montreal, April 2011. It was an amazing weekend; I’ve written a blog post about it too.
Toronto skyline from Cherry Street
After the Distillery District / St. Lawrence Market photo walk a few of the TOPW group headed down to Cherry Beach to shoot the “supermoon”; I shot this en route, looking back at the TO skyline.
All that’s left
A historic building near Yonge and Dundas which has been vacant for a few months (after a wall partially collapsed) caught fire and will now have to be demolished.
Toronto Polar Bear Dip (8)
Our first outing of the year, Toronto Photo Walks braved the downpour at the Toronto Polar Bear Dip.
